Crystal UV resin Pentart, 20 ml
Pentart one-component, sweat-free UV resin is designed for the rapid creation of smaller resin products and for final coatings on larger two-component resin products and other materials.
Pentart HARD UV resin produces a transparent, glossy, hard, glass-like surface. This makes it ideal for jewellery making, resin crystal production and for creating water imitations, for example in modelling. Not UV stable.
A UV lamp must be used for curing .
Content: 20 ml.
This UV resin can be coloured with all colours, pigments and powders from our range.
Clouding of the UV resin (milky colour, white pieces, lumpiness, gelatinousness, etc.) is a common phenomenon caused by storage at temperatures below 20 °C (in storage, during transport, in dispensers, etc.). If you find this cloudiness, place the sealed bottle in a warm water bath (50-70 °C) for 20-30 minutes and the cloudiness will disappear. Repeat if necessary. Let cool and then process.

With this UV resin you can create the entire product, or you can use it only on the final layer of the product by simply squeezing it out of the tube and curing it under UV light. This eliminates the mixing of ingredients and makes it a great alternative to two-part resin when you only need a small amount, which is very difficult to mix with two-part resin.
Thin layers take approx. 1 minute to cure, thicker layers up to a maximum width of 3 mm take approx. 2 minutes to cure. The curing time depends directly on the quality and strength of the UV curing lamp, the degree of discolouration and the embedded objects. It is self-levelling, creating a smooth surface.
This resin is designed for layers of maximum 3 mm. If the resin is clear and without embedded objects, it is possible to cure the entire 3 mm. In the case of thicker colouring or insertion of objects through which the light from the UV lamp cannot penetrate, we recommend applying in thinner layers and curing these layers continuously. Depending on the layer and the amount of pigmentation, curing may take longer than the above times.
Curing in moulds that are translucent or illuminated by a UV lamp is ideal. For example, for metal beds, we recommend application in thinner layers.
If the surface remains sticky after curing, we recommend using the UV curing lamp again. Another option is to wipe the surface with a paper towel dipped in acetone or nail polish remover.
What does UV stable/unstable resin mean?
The resins without additives to ensure UV stability yellow to a richer yellow colour. The resins with these additives provide longer protection against yellowing and only yellow to a slight tinge of yellow over time. How to ensure that the UV stable resin product is free of this breath as long as possible? Do not expose the products to direct sunlight, which interferes with the protective UV barrier.
