Product detailed description
EPOXYTABLE 10 Epoxy Resin is a unique product that allows waterproofing up to 10 cm thick, does not yellow and is resistant to mechanical damage. It is suitable for working at ambient temperatures up to 25 °C. It is an excellent choice if you want to create tables, countertops, pyramids and other products from resin and wood.
It is fully transparent and can be applied in layers of about 10 cm. For casting small objects such as figures, ornaments, lamps (example: 15 cm x 15 cm x 30 cm height), the casting thickness can be increased up to 30 cm at a controlled temperature of 15 °C.
In the case of higher castings at temperatures higher than 15 °C, it is recommended to cast it in layers, after partial or complete hardening of the bottom layer. It can be well coloured and pigmented. It is easy to work and polish. It has excellent mechanical properties, high strength and cohesion. The cured resin surface resists scratching and other non-critical damage. Due to its very low viscosity it removes air bubbles well during the curing process.

What does UV stable/unstable resin mean?
The resins without additives to ensure UV stability yellow to a richer yellow colour. The resins with these additives provide longer protection against yellowing and only yellow to a slight tinge of yellow over time. How to ensure that the UV stable resin product is free of this breath as long as possible? Do not expose the products to direct sunlight, which interferes with the protective UV barrier.
Processing and applications
First mix the two ingredients in a mixing ratio of 100 : 25 by weight. Each ingredient needs to be carefully weighed in grams. First, pour and weigh the required amount of component A into the container (clean and dry), reset the balance and pour and weigh the required amount of component B. Use our calculation table to help you calculate the required weight of components A and B. The two components are mixed for 4 minutes (alternate clockwise and anticlockwise mixing, scraping the material from the sides and bottom of the container). After mixing, it is recommended to transfer the mixture into another clean and dry container, stir again and then apply. Allow the mixed resin to sit before application to allow the bubbles to escape.
WARNING: Do not use the product for castings with a casting column lower than 1 cm.
If the mass is cast into moulds, it is advisable to use a silicone mould. In the case of moulds made of other materials, a separator must be used for easy removal from the mould. We do not recommend using glass containers as a mould, they may crack when the resin cures. When porous materials (wood, concrete) are poured, air bubbles are released into the cast material, therefore it is necessary to penetrate these objects. Penetration of porous materials can be done with a special primer, or you can paint them with a thin layer of resin and after it hardens, such items can be molded into the desired product.
To ensure optimum consistency and quality results after application, it is necessary to ensure sufficient temperature of the environment and the material during mixing and curing:
- when casting a column height of 10 cm, the temperature must be below 25 °C ;
- when casting a column height of 7-8 cm, the temperature can be 25-30 °C.
After mixing the two components, the resin will cure in 3-4 days, but we recommend to mechanically process the product (grinding and polishing) only after 12-14 days from the moment of pouring.
Attention
- Observe the processing time, do not work with the finished mixture longer than the specified processing time. If this time is not observed, the products may not have the necessary properties (the finished products may be fragile).
- The resin may become cloudy when stored at temperatures below 20 °C. This is a common phenomenon, before use, place the sealed bottle with ingredient A in a warm water bath (50 - 70 °C) for 20-30 minutes and the cloudiness will disappear. Prevent water from entering the resin bottle. After removing from the bath, allow to cool and then use.
- Note that the resin may start to heat up rapidly in the mixing vessel in a layer higher than the recommended maximum casting layer ( exothermic reaction) and deteriorate.
- Hot objects such as tea cups must not be placed on the finished resin products. The product could be damaged.
Security measures
- We recommend that children under 18 years of age, pregnant and nursing women work with epoxy resin only with skin and respiratory protection, and that children work only under adult supervision.
- In case of eye contact, flush with plenty of water. Avoid swallowing or inhaling material; if swallowed or if mucous membranes are affected, seek medical attention.
- Wash your hands thoroughly after work, especially before eating. Do not smoke, drink or eat while creating the product.
- Work in a well-ventilated area with (important!) low humidity (no more than 30-40%).
- The temperature must be no lower than 20 °C and no higher than 25-27 °C.
- Only wear gloves, the resin can cause an allergic reaction on the skin.
- We recommend protecting your respiratory tract with a respirator or full-face mask with a vapour filter.
