How to make orgonites from epoxy resin

Are you interested in orgonites made from epoxy resin and would like to make your own? Then you are in the right place. We will explain what orgonites are used for and how to make them.

What is an orgonite?

An orgonite combines natural stones, metal elements, and epoxy resin. The metal parts are considered a source of energy or a means of directing it. Natural stones (most commonly semi-precious stones) are used to polarize the energy, and the resin holds all components together and protects them from oxidation and mechanical damage.

According to some creators, orgonites contain and possibly attract energy that can be used for healing, protection against electromagnetic radiation, enhancing vitality, and improving physical and mental well-being. Orgonites are expected to be an effective way to minimize negative effects from the environment while attracting positive energy.

However, scientists do not have a unified opinion on whether orgonites actually work or not. Some claim it is merely a placebo effect, while others argue that it has real therapeutic effects. Despite this uncertainty, orgonites continue to gain popularity among those who believe in their effectiveness and use them for various purposes.

What materials are most commonly used in production?

  • Metal shavings, filings, and spirals: aluminum and copper shavings and spirals are most commonly used. These metals have high conductivity and are thought to contribute to dispersing or concentrating energy.

  • Semi-precious stones and natural stones: various types of stones and semi-precious stones are believed to have the ability to hold and amplify energy. Most commonly used are rose quartz, amethyst, quartz, lapis lazuli, tourmaline, hematite, and similar. The selection of semi-precious stones and stones should be individual and based on the user's specific needs and goals.

  • Colored pigments: for making colored orgonites, colors are added to the resin. Usually, not the entire orgonite is colored, but just one or several of its layers.

  • Various stickers and symbols with spiritual themes

  • Metal spirals

    For directing energy.

What shapes can orgonites have?

Orgonites are made in many different shapes and sizes, depending on their purpose and use. Some of the most commonly used shapes are:

  • Round disks: very popular for their aesthetic appearance and often used as decorative items. They can come in various sizes and are easily portable.

  • Pyramids: one of the most popular shapes for orgonites. Pyramids are often used for amplifying and concentrating energy. This shape has the property of attracting energy to its center and radiating it out.

  • Cones and tetrahedrons: beautiful shapes that attract attention. These shapes have the same properties as classic pyramids.
  • Cubes: this shape is suitable for those who prefer simple forms. A cube or even a rectangular prism has a stable base and is usually large. It can also be used as a decorative item.

  • Circles: another popular shape for orgonites. A circle tends to disperse energy throughout the space and can be used to balance the energy in a room.

  • Hearts: popular among those seeking orgonites with spiritual properties. Hearts tend to enhance love, compassion, and relationships.

These shapes of orgonites are just some of the many possibilities. Essentially, an orgonite can be made in any shape that the user desires and can be combined with various materials and stones to achieve specific effects.

How to make an orgonite?

Procedure for making an orgonite pyramid:

  1. Prepare all the necessary materials and choose a silicone mold for the orgonite.

  2. Mix epoxy resin and hardener according to the instructions on the packaging. For large orgonites, the most popular is 5-FIVE resin, which is UV resistant and suitable for high molds in layers up to 5 cm thick.

For proper resin mixing, please read our article.

  3. For taller molds, it is common to cast in layers so that materials remain precisely in the places where you need them and do not float away. Pour the next layer only when the previous layer is in the gel phase (thick as honey). This way, the layers will connect and the seams will not be visible. If you want the layers perfectly separated, pour the next layer only after the previous one has fully cured.

  4. Be sure to remove bubbles in each layer, which typically get trapped at the tip of the pyramid, on the walls of the mold, or on embedded objects. Remove surface bubbles by quickly passing a lighter or alcohol spray.

  5. Let the resin cure and remove the orgonite from the mold only when the resin is hard enough that it does not leave a dent if you poke it with a nail or a blunt tool.

  6. The final step is to trim the sharp edges of the bottom of the orgonite using a scraper, a utility knife, or you can sand them with a file.
