How to make your own Christmas ornaments from resin

The Christmas season is the perfect time for creative crafting! Make your own original decorations that will give your decor a unique touch and bring you joy year after year. With our molds and quality resin, you can do it effortlessly. Plus, we've prepared a video tutorial for you that will show you step by step how to do it.

What will you need?

  1. Resin – epoxy resin is perfect for making ornaments due to its transparency and the ability to color or decorate it.
  2. Molds for Christmas ornaments – on our e-shop, you'll find a wide range of shapes, from classic balls and stars to trees and angels. Choose here.
  3. Colors and decorative accessories – you can add pearl powder, glitter, or gold and silver foils for a festive effect.
  4. Mixing containers and spatulas – for precise mixing of resin and hardener.
  5. Protective gloves and a scale – safety first.

Production process

  1. Form preparation: Ensure the mold is clean, remove any dirt with tape.

  2. Mixing resin: Mix the resin with the hardener according to the instructions. If you want a transparent ornament, you can pour the mixture into the mold right after mixing. If you prefer colors, add glitter, powder pigments, or a drop of dye and mix well.

💡 Weigh the resin accurately in grams and mix well. First, mix for 3 minutes in one cup, then pour it into the second cup and repeat the mixing. This ensures it is mixed thoroughly!

  3. Pouring into the mold: Slowly pour the prepared resin into the mold to avoid bubble formation. Remove any air bubbles with a stick.

  4. Decorating: You can place small decorations into the resin after pouring it into the mold, such as gold and silver foil pieces, tiny pearls, or dried flowers.
  5. Hardening: Allow the resin to harden according to the recommended time. This can take 24 hours or longer, depending on the type of resin.
  6. Removing from the mold and final touches: Once the resin is fully hardened, carefully remove the ornament from the mold. Finally, thread a hook or ribbon through. If the ornament doesn't have a hole, drill one using a hand or electric drill.
