Have you been captivated by the latest trends in home decor crafting and want to try them yourself? Then you're in the right place! Let's take a look at simple techniques to master these effects. In this article, we will focus on marbling!
Marbling is simply in!
It's true and nothing else, the marble effect is still trendy and will likely be forever. Plus, the process is so simple that you get a lot of impact for very little effort!
Let's get started!
Prepare your workspace and gather everything you'll need for the project. What you need to prepare is already detailed in our article “How to Work with NatuResin Mineral Resin?”.
For marbling, you'll need two cups. In one cup, mix all the material you'll need to fill the silicone mold. In the second cup, pour the mixed NatuResin to a height of about 0.5 cm and color it. Will you be using classic black or another color? The imagination knows no bounds.
The amount of colored part depends on you; the more color you add, the more or less marbled the product will be. Before mixing the colors, it is recommended to wait until the material is as thick as honey. This way, the colors will blend less and create a nice marbling effect.
Pour the colored part into the first cup with the uncolored NatuResin. We pour it carefully to the edge. Then take a toothpick, skewer, or spatula and lightly swirl the two colors once or twice to blend them only slightly.
Pouring into the mold
With both colors in one cup, you can start pouring into the mold. Pour from the side of the cup where you added the colored part. If you move the cup sideways, you will create arcs in the marbling. We chose to pour from top to bottom.
Tap the mold from the sides or lightly knock it against the workspace to remove bubbles, and let it cure. After curing, when the thermochemical reaction occurs and the material cools, you can gently remove it from the mold and let it fully cure on the table.
